Musician/composerThomas Devos and photographer Jan Missotten voice their deep fascination with Russia in a present-day theatre concert.
What starts off as the maiden voyage of a Flemish boy travelling to Russia to meet his Russian soulmate, ends in a dark-rimmed theatre-concert filled with both rock-hard guitars and fragile moments, Russian songs and mystical/intriguing images.
Karandash submerges you into a grand, sultry Russia. One hundred years after the outbreak of the Russian revolution, the makers use delightful music and sharp visuals to go in search of (Russia’s) youth and each individual’s quest for an identity.
